How I run a sustainable & aligned business in 15 hours a week as a mum of 2

Let’s be real: running a business and being a mum can feel like a juggling act that’s constantly on the brink of chaos. But it genuinely doesn’t have to be that way.
Over the past few years, I’ve built what I call my Unhustled Ops™ framework: a set of systems and rhythms designed to fit my energy, my life, and my nervous system. And yes, it’s possible to do this working 15 hours a week.
The not-so-secret-secret: systems that work for me, not the other way around.
To be unhustled is to opt out of the push, the pressure, and the constant need to prove your worth by grinding harder.
Instead it’s about building business systems that hold space for who you are right now. The systems that work with your capacity, your energy cycles, and your lifestyle.
Here’s are 6 systems that I use to run my business as a mum of 2 in just 15 hours a week:
1. Booking & onboarding system
My calendar is pre-blocked with my exact capacity. Clients can book, sign my terms, pay, and onboard, all completely automated, even when I'm not at my desk. This means none of the endless back-and-forth emails, AND my clients get a seamless and thoughtful experience from the moment they choose to lock in with me, which sets the tone for everything that follows.
2. Content repurposing system
I build my content ecosystem around long-form blog posts that feed my emails and socials. Then I repurpose and batch schedule posts ahead of time, so stories are the only ‘live’ thing I have to show up for each day. It keeps content creation manageable and strategic, and frees up my mental capacity because I’m not constantly feeling the need to churn something out to tick a box. Having a content repurposing system makes my content marketing feel cohesive, intentional and aligned.
3. My Unhustled Ops™ Hub
Notion is the energetic home of my business. Every project, goal, SOP, client deliverable, and piece of copy & content lives there. I'm never hunting for info or juggling ten tabs to track something down because it’s all anchored in one place. Having this anchor means I can focus on the work that matters most and move the needle.
4. Email nurture sequence
Anyone new who lands in my world gets an automated (but juicy and human) email journey that shares my story, introduces the ethos of Unhustled Ops, and gently builds trust and clarity around what I offer. This means my email marketing platform is doing the heavy lifting for me, turning cold audiences into community without me having to micromanage every communication. My nurture sequence opens the door to deeper connection and potential collaboration.
5. Syncing with my Human Design & cycles
This part is sacred to me. It is a constant practice for me to tune into my body, my energy and my design, especially in business. Knowing when I’m naturally wired to push and when to pull back lets me build systems that flex with me, not against me. On low energy days, I lean into tasks like scheduling or planning, and on high energy days, I dive into creative strategy or client sessions.
This rhythm keeps me aligned and brings a softness to my business that feels both strategic and deeply nurturing.
6. Boundaries
With 2 kids, all my work has to fit around my family. My calendar reflects this and I protect it fiercely. I set clear expectations by sharing my boundaries upfront in my terms & in my Gmail auto-responder, so everyone knows where they stand.
Removing the guesswork around availability, response times, and scope means less friction and more respect for everyone’s time and energy.
Why systems are the backbone of Sustainable Business
This is the kind of structure that allows me to show up fully in both my business and my actual life without guilt or overwhelm. It gives me room to create without feeling pressured to do so for the sake of content. I show up because I WANT to.
Your ops (the inner workings of your business) are how your brilliance becomes scaleable, shareable and sustainable.
If you’re craving a business that works with you (not against you) it’s time to rethink and recalibrate your operations.
